چکیده
Title: The feeling of being a burden by elderly patients in a long-term care. Purpose: To find out how the nurse can help the patient alleviate this perceived burden. Method: Integrative literature review Result: Suggestions like knowing the patient, supporting patient ́s autonomy and independence and affirming the patient ́s dignity, and worth as a person were found in the literature. The importance of giving good quality care for the chronically ill elderly is also found to be essential in helping to alleviate the patient ́s sense of being a burden.
